It is another year and as usual many universities in the country have began their traditional admission processes. With some students having gotten their admissions earlier and with some others still waiting for theirs,I would like to send a congratulatory message to all newly admitted students and best of wishes for those whose admissions will be coming later.Diving into the content of this article, there have been many scenarios where newly admitted students feel nervous or go through a lot of stress with issues relating to how to easily adapt to the university system. Therefore, I believe that a fore knowledge of some activities in the university has the efficacy of solving or minimizing such circumstances. This article aims at giving freshers a prior idea on how to easily adapt to the new environment..Over here,it talks about 8 basic things you need to know about the University of Ghana before arrival.

1. Mattress,chop box,trunks,and beds

The university had already made provisions for beds and matresses and these are all included in the fees so you do not need to come with a bed or a mattress. However if you get a bed which you do not feel comfortable with, you can still change it.Additionally, bags should be preferred to chop box and trunks since lockers are available.

2. Communication or Technology device.

In an institution such as the university, communication or technology devices such as mobile phones,i-pads and laptops are very necessary. This is because at other levels of education students are been taught, but in the university students go for lectures..writing notes is not quite common at lectures where the lecturers are a bit fast in presenting slides.Joting down important points in the University is very necessary.Other necessary academic resources for your course will however be sent through these devices for you to study.

University of Ghana been an institution which aims at making life easier for students on campus has restaurants in all the traditional halls where food can be vended. Moreover there are other places such as the night market and Bush canteen that offer a variety of dishes.

7.How to indentify your room members.

You can easily identify your roommates through the Hall porters that’s if they have registered but you haven’t seen them. After registration with the hall managements you send the proof to the hall porters then they give you the keys after signing in..On the same book for signing in you can identify your roommates.with their phone numbers, names and levels.

    1. It does use mattresses…but these types are bigger and of higher quality then the ones used in SHS..However,a student does not need to take a mattress to campus because the beds already have mattresses on them.
